Counsellor in Brighton & Hove

Gay & LGBTQ+ Counselling

I specialise in working with the gay, queer & LGBTQ+ communities, and support with issues like addiction, drug problems, neurodiversity, ADHD, HIV and relationship problems. I worked at MindOut, a local LGBTQ charity from 2021-2024 where I gained specialist experience. I also have lived experience as part of the community, and have seen the common difficulties people face.

Too many LGBTQ+ people grew up feeling they had to hide parts of themselves. Hearing that you’re not acceptable as you are is hugely damaging to a person’s self-esteem and basic sense of safety and belonging. It’s no wonder there are higher incidences of mental health issues amongst LGBTQ people.

My approach to therapy is inclusive and affirming. I want you to feel that you can speak openly without worrying about censoring or being misunderstood. All parts of your experience are welcome.

It’s always important to find the right therapist for you, so I recommend an initial session so that you can check there’s a fit. You can contact me here to inquire.
